  1. The following summarises the fixes and feature enhancements made to the FileMaker Pro 3.0Bv3 program:

  3. • Problems with calculations have been corrected, including:
  4.     - Incorrect results with the Extend, IsEmpty, and some Status functions
  5.     - Incorrect triggering and updating of calculations under certain conditions
  6.     - Incorrect parsing of calculations in countries where the decimal separator
  7.     is a comma
  8.     - Excessive redraw of calculation fields that reference a summary field
  9.     during data entry
  10.     - Inappropriate update of fields using the auto-enter modification date or time
  11.     option when the Today function is recalculated
  12.     - Incorrect results with calculations and lookups based on repeating fields
  13.  
  14. • Problems with sorting decimal numbers in descending order and the sorting of summary fields have been corrected
  15.  
  16. • Problems with Drag and Drop have been corrected, including:
  17.     - Inaccurate transfer of text from ClarisWorks 4.0
  18.     - Incomplete record level validation in transfers between records
  19.  
  20. • Problems with certain script steps in ScriptMaker have been corrected, including:
  21.     - Loophole with Allow User Abort which could allow user to abort a script
  22.     - Slurring of dial tones by the Dial Phone script step
  23.     - Scripts with more than 247 steps no longer crash
  24.     - Mishandling of empty found sets with the Go To Related Record script step
  25.  
  26. • Problems with the Sliding/Printing command have been corrected, including:
  27.     - Incorrect printing of blank pages in layouts with fields that extend beyond the
  28.     limit and are set to slide up and to the left
  29.     - Portals with a line width of zero will now slide correctly
  30.  
  31. • Corrected a problem where files created with the Windows version of FileMaker Pro using Australian regional settings could not be opened by the Macintosh version
  32.  
  33. • Problems with certain Avery label templates and the skipping of labels have been corrected
  34.  
  35. • Problems with locating files that are referenced in scripts or relationships have been corrected
  36.  
  37. • Handling of related records through portals has been improved
  38.  
  39. • Improvements were made to the file recover command
  40.  
  41. • In some instances, repeating field lookups in networked databases would generate a 10010 error message. This has been corrected.

  43. • QuickTime support is now available in the Windows version if QuickTime for Windows 2.1.1 or later is used. QuickTime for Windows is available from Apple Computer.

  45. • Scaling problems with WinFax Pro 7.0 have been corrected
  46.  
  47. • Some problems with Apple Events including the use of filtered references in AppleScript have been corrected
  48.  
  49. • Problems with the import of comma separated text files in international versions of FileMaker Pro have been corrected
  50.  
  51. • Problems with the import of certain types of text data files and exports from databases with repeating fields have been corrected
  52.  
  53. • A problem with text editing when zoomed to less than 100% has been corrected
  54.  
  55. • Problems with value lists have been corrected, including:
  56.     -Selection of a value using the keyboard with the Windows version
  57.     -Clicking into a set of radio buttons or checkboxes when zoomed
  58.  
  59. Some new features have been added, including:
  60.  
  61. • ClarisWorks 4.0 databases can now be imported directly into FileMaker Pro
  62.  
  63. • A preference to hide the Windows 95 status bar has been added
  64.  
  65. • New ScriptMaker steps have been added:
  66.     Open Preferences- open the Preferences dialog box
  67.     Correct Word- correct a word flagged by spell-as-you-type
  68.     Spelling Options- set spelling options
  69.     Select Dictionaries- change the spell checking dictionaries
  70.     Edit User Dictionary- modify the User Dictionary
  71.     Delete Portal Row- delete the current portal row instead of the current master record
